My students loved this song so much that I had them sing it at the School Concert.  The students did such a GREAT job!!  The adults couldn't believe that the kids knew all of these lyrics.  I couldn't either!  haha  …but they loved the song so much they memorized all of the words!!

Building Vocabulary Using Analogies

My students did not know how to describe a piece of music.  My solution was to teach them 6 musical terms.  Then I made it fun as they created analogies.  The best papers were displayed on a prominent bulletin board in our school.  One of my favorites:  "Forte is like being in a loud lunchroom!"

This is a fun way to learn the bass clef.  The kids love it!

The students had so much fun performing "Follow the Rainbow."  They sang out loud and strong and even nailed the motions.  Way to go 2nd grade!
